Master Chess Summer Camp
We are working with some of the best coaches in the country to offer three sessions of online summer chess camp: The first session is August 1st to 5th, the second is August 8th to 12th, the third is August 15th to 19th. The lineup of instructors makes this a unique learning opportunity.
Grandmaster Alex Stripunsky is the former coach of the US Women's National Team and a personal coach to elite young players through the International Master level. Alex has won or tied for first in numerous world-class events, including the US Championship and the World Open.
National Master Nolan Hendrickson is one of the top chess players and coaches in Wisconsin. He earned his National Master title at the age of 17 and the Life Master title at 22. Nolan attended Lindenwood University on a chess scholarship.
Nolan is extremely passionate about teaching chess and has a love for helping his students accomplish their chess-related goals. He has been teaching for over 10 years and has helped people of all ages improve their rating and love for the game. Nolan utilizes his knowledge of psychology and learning to help his students maximize their success in chess.
Outside of chess, Nolan holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and is a licensed therapist in Wisconsin. He hopes to publish his book on emotion theory in the years to come.
The daily schedule is as follows:
9:30 AM - 12:00 PM: Theoretical Instruction - tactics, typical middlegame themes, endgames, etc. Opportunities to practice will be included.
12:00 PM - 2:45 PM: Lunch Break - kids should go outside and step away from their screens to prepare to focus again.
3:00 PM - 5:00 PM: Practical Component - tournament games, analysis, etc.
The coaches will be able to challenge and instruct students of all levels. Each student will receive individual recommendations for further study - our goal is for them to be inspired to continue their chess journey with renewed dedication.
The fee is $500 for one week of camp. Half-day (morning only) is also available for $375 for the week.
Coaches will be using original material for the second and third weeks, so returning campers will learn new things each day.
We hope your child will study with us! They can expect serious learning, but also serious fun.
